This groundbreaking session will explore the potential of Rural Enterprise Hubs as a means to revitalise Japan’s depopulated rural areas. Mr Daniel Rad, Director of FERN, discusses the timeliness of this initiative: “Japan’s rural areas are facing unprecedented challenges due to depopulation. By examining successful models like the UK’s Rural Enterprise Hubs and adapting them to Japan’s unique circumstances, we aim to provide practical, implementable solutions to revitalise these vital communities.”

This think tank event in conjunction with Washington-based Gold Institute represents a crucial step towards addressing the complex challenges faced by Japan’s rural communities. By bringing together experts from various fields and countries, FERN aims to foster innovative, sustainable solutions for the future of rural Japan.
