Accessibility statement

FERN wants everyone to be able to read our research and use this website, whatever device or assistive technology they use.

Using this website

You should be able to:

zoom in up to 200% without text spilling off the screen, using your browser’s zoom (Ctrl and + on Windows, Cmd and + on a Mac);
navigate the site using just a keyboard;
listen to pages using a screen reader, such as NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver;
use your browser’s reader mode to view articles without the surrounding layout.

We use clear typefaces, strong colour contrast and plain English, and we aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.

Known limitations

Some images in older articles do not yet have text descriptions. We are adding them as we update the archive.
Some older PDF documents may not work well with screen readers.
FERNCast episodes are played through Spotify’s player, which we do not control, and transcripts are not yet available for every episode.
